Metroparks Volunteers Become Professional Scientists

“I had no idea that I could actually be a part of science.” – Citizen Scientist Sue Engle

Sue Engle and Nicole Velez search for bugs in a stream at the West Creek Reservation in Parma. The bugs indicate the health of the stream – which feeds into Lake Erie.

Both Sue and Nicole used their volunteer work at Metroparks to transition into careers in science.
