Ohio General Assembly Remembers Fallen Soldiers

Republican House Speaker Bill Batchelder, at a Statehouse ceremony, said each has made a sacrifice to this state that will never be forgotten.

BATCHELDER: "We are here to day to honor 28 of Ohio's best: sons and daughters, husband and wives, moms and dads, from Harrison up to Concord, Perrysburg down to South Bloomingville and the many cities, villages and townships in between. They came from many walks of life but were united in a common purpose and love of country. Although they are no longer with us, their presence will always be felt."

At the Statehouse ceremony, each of the 28 fallen soldiers were remembered with the toll of a bell.
