Ohio House Democrats Want Budget To Address 'Tax Shifting'

House Republicans are staying quiet on what the revised bill will look like until it's officially released.

Democratic leaders, such as Representative Denise Driehaus of Cincinnati, say they want to stop the provisions they deem as tax shifting.

She adds that they offered other amendments to make sure tax breaks for small businesses are most beneficial to the state.

"If you want to receive an incentive you have to then turn around and invest that in your business, or hire someone, or do some R&D. I mean it has to be strategic to create the result that we want," Driehaus said.

Driehaus also hopes the revised bill includes changes to Kasich's school funding formula, expanded access to health care and added provisions to make college more affordable.
