Supreme Court Denies Ohio Motion to Cut Back on Early Voting

The U.S. Supreme Court denied Ohio's bid to prohibit counties from offering early voting in the state on the three days before Election Day.

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted had appealed a federal court ruling that struck down a state law cutting back on early voting. President Barack Obama's campaign had sued, saying the law was unconstitutional.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Husted, in response to the ruling, ordered polling places open on Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. and Monday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the three days before Nov. 6.
