Sustainability Consortium To Hold Public Workshops on Suburban Sprawl

Share on Facebook Share Share on Twitter Share

For decades now, people and businesses have been migrating from the urban core into the countryside. The result is what's come to be known as suburban sprawl, and it continues in Northeast Ohio even though population growth in the region remains stagnant. A local consortium is using a $4 million dollar federal grant to study the effects of persistent sprawl, and what planners can do to manage it - and perhaps reign it in. It's holding a series of public workshops on the the topic this week.. (Click here for details.)

ideastream's Anne Glausser spoke with the consortium's Executive Director Hunter Morrison, to get a sense of the project and what might come of it.
