Displaced Mother in Cleveland Shares Tragedy from Hurricane Maria

Three months after Hurricane Maria made landfall on Puerto Rico, the exact death toll remains a mystery and is very controversial. The government has officially confirmed 55 deaths from the storm on the island, but the death toll is feared to be much higher.

Basmeson says her grandfather died in an intensive care unit in a hospital on the island and her family never got the body for a proper burial. This is her story in her own words.
