Artist Franny Taft, Classical Revolution Cleveland, Akron Children's Hospital Mural and an unusual Pumpkin Carver

ARTIST FRANNY TAFT:To maintain the precious moments in her life, artist Franny Taft kept a sketch book and copious notes!  The Cleveland Institute of Art professor emerita recently released a new two-volume memoir titled, “ Sketches From My Life.”

CLASSICAL REVOLUTION CLEVELAND:Classical Music in a brew pub might sound like a revolutionary idea.  And to some it is!  It’s a movement that began in 2006 in San Francisco and found its way to Northeast Ohio in ’09, through a group of classically trained musicians who called themselves “Classical Revolution Cleveland.”

AKRON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL MURAL:Northeast Ohio has long been regarded as one of the finest regions in the country for quality medical care.  One of the best at providing services for younger patients is Akron Children’s Hospital.  Recently, the hospital unveiled a big art project as a way of thanking the patients and visitors for their support AND honoring the hard work of an exceptional staff.

ARTIST DEANE ARNOLD:  Deane Arnold sculpts amazingly detailed 3-D portraits using pumpkins as his clay.
