Singer Graham Nash; Cleveland Ballroom Dancing; Cleveland Arts Prize; Chainsaw Artist

Two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum inductee Graham Nash, a member of Crosby, Stills and Nash and British rock group the Hollies, sits down with Applause Host Dee Perry about his performance with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra on the occasion of their 20th Anniversary. The concert featured well-known CSN songs arranged by the CYO. It was an opportunity for these young musicians to learn about the music of an iconic band and get some insight into their socially conscious music.

The music of Crosby, Stills and Nash may be a hit with baby boomers, but perhaps not with Generation Z - teens born after 2000 - who are probably more inclined to listen to Justin, Mylie and Jay Z. So imagine the reaction some teens had after finding out they'd be spending several weeks listening to the Tango, Foxtrot and Rumba:  Ballroom Dancing. It was an opportunity we couldn’t resist sending our ideastream cameras to capture.

As Northeast Ohio prepares to honor this year’s Cleveland Arts Prize Winners, during their upcoming ceremony, one awardee, Op-Artist Julian Stanczak, deserves a bit of extra recognition. He is this year’s special honoree, making this his second Arts Prize, the first coming in 1969 for visual arts.

One of the beauties of art is that it comes in so many different shapes, designs, sizes and media. One of the more unusual forms begins with a tree trunk, a chainsaw and power tools, the items that sculpture Mark Rich uses to shape his distinctive wooden statues.
