Violins of Hope, Roxboro Middle School Musicians, Cleveland Culinary Launch Kitchen & a Food Photographer

VIOLINS OF HOPE
Throughout the many concerts, exhibits and outreach programs during the recent Violins of Hope tour of Cleveland our ideastream cameras were rolling, conducting interviews and documenting the events which has culminated in a one-hour documentary titled Violins of Hope: Strings of the Holocaust. On this episode we look back at some of the people and special moments of this groundbreaking exhibit.

ROXBORO MIDDLE SCHOOL MUSICIANS
The effort to bring Violins of Hope to Northeast Ohio was partially motivated by the Jewish Community’s desire to share stories of the atrocities of World War II with young people in a thought provoking way, to help ensure that they would never forget. For one class at Roxboro Middle School in Cleveland Heights that history was delivered through music.

CLEVELAND CULINARY LAUNCH KITCHEN
For anyone who’s ever dreamed of turning that secret family recipe into a food product for sale in markets and stores, there’s hope and advice on how to do it. In 2011, The Cleveland Culinary Launch Kitchen opened downtown. Their goal, to help individuals and local food vendors bring their product to market.

FOOD PHOTOGRAPHER
People often say that we eat with our eyes! If it looks good, we eat it!  Professional food photographer Grace Natoli Sheldon has made a career out of wetting our appetite with artful dishes that adorn food magazines around the world. The story comes to us from our PBS affiliate MP-TV in Milwaukee for this episode of Applause America.
