Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank CEO Speaks at Biannual Policy Summit

Most people know the Federal Reserve sets interest rates and regulates the money supply.

Less well-known is its role in the community.

Last week, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland hosted its Biannual Policy Summit, bringing together around 300 researchers and practitioners to discuss some of the most pressing issues facing low-and-moderate income neighborhoods and the people who live there.

That's including the opioid crisis, race and inequality and the future of manufacturing.

Loretta Mester is President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

She stopped by the ideacenter after the close of the conference.
