New Guidelines Set For Treating Childhood Hypertension

High blood pressure is one of the top five chronic diseases in children.

But in 75% of the young patients, the diagnosis is missed by doctors in primary care setting.

To make sure this silent condition is detected sooner, the American Academy of Pediatrics Convened at 20-person committee to update the 13-year-old guidelines.

To discuss this, David Kaelber, MD, PhD, MPH with MetroHealth joined Ideas. Kaelber is also Co-Chair of the AAP Subcommittee on Screening and Management of High Blood Pressure in Children.
