Health officials confirm the first case of Ebola in the United States.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on Tuesday that a man is being treated in a Dallas, Texas hospital for what they've diagnosed as Ebola.
Ebola is an infectious-and often fatal-disease; marked by fever and severe internal bleeding. The Ebola outbreak was first identified in Guinea in March and has since spread across Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
Health officials here in the U.S. won't say how the man, who traveled to Liberia last month, contracted the virus or how they're treating it.
Tom Friedan, the director of the CDC, says there's no cause for alarm and he's confident in the CDC's ability to stop Ebola from spreading in the U.S.
