Children's Self-Esteem

New research from the University of Washington indicates that kids already have developed a sense of self-esteem by the time they reach age 5. And while some young people feel pretty good about themselves, others develop anxieties about things like body image and a low confidence. On the Sound of Ideas, we'll hear from real kids and ask our expert, how important is developing and maintining positive self-esteem in kids? What about those who deride the "trophy-for-all" mentality?
