Conversations With The Candidates: Democrat Richard Cordray For Governor

From now until election day, we’ll be featuring conversations with the candidates for statewide office. Last week and this week, we're featuring extended interviews with the major party candidates for governor, one of whom will replace term-limited Republican John Kasich. We start in order of date that the interview was conducted.

Richard Cordray was most recently the first-ever head of the federal Consumer Financial Protection Agency, appointed by President Obama. Before that, he was the Ohio attorney general, losing in 2010 to Mike DeWine. He’s also been a state representative, the first solicitor general of Ohio, and the state treasurer.

The long road to the midterms is almost at an end – and as the campaigns are doing their final pushes before Tuesday’s vote, they’re also gearing up for what they expect to see that night. And Mike Dawson of Ohioelectionresults.com says they’ll be watching not only the returns, but may be preparing for a bit of a wait.
