Sister Rosetta Tharpe (1915-1973), the "Godmother of Rock & Roll," will be inducted into the Rock Hall this April. Once playwright George Brant heard a recording of Rosetta Tharpe singing gospel and playing the electric guitar, he was hooked. The result is his play "Marie and Rosetta," premiering Jan. 20 at the Cleveland Play House.
