As folks start taking holiday vacation, the time is right to enjoy and participate in the arts online.  Here are five virtual arts happenings to consider this week from Northeast Ohio arts and cultural institutions.

Contemporary Youth Orchestra

Cleveland's Contemporary Youth Orchestra partners with legendary local rocker Michael Stanley for a new rendition of Stanley's "Another New Year's Eve." The video, which includes 70 orchestra musicians performing from home, is available on the CYO YouTube channel.

Stocker Arts Center

Lorain County Community College's Stocker Arts Center stages a virtual holiday special, " Artrageous: A Very Colourful Christmas," featuring music, visual arts and comedy. The 45-minute show is available via the college's website Saturday, December 19, from 3-9 p.m.

Baldwin Wallace University

Baldwin Wallace's music theater department shares an encore presentation of its acclaimed virtual production " Spring Awakening." The Tony-winning show about teenage love and lust in 19th century Germany streams Thursday, December 17 through Sunday, December 20.

Shaker Arts Council

As part of its Stay-in-Place Productions, the Shaker Arts Council is offering Zoom art classes and webinars this month. These community art classes are designed for K-12 students on winter break between December 21-23 and 28-30.

ChamberFest Cleveland

The annual summer classical music ChamberFest Cleveland was canceled this year due to the pandemic. But you can bask in the warmth of a multitude of past performances on the festival's YouTube channel.
