Good morning and TGIF on this Friday Feb. 8, 2019.

The state has issued its first citation for misusing medical marijuana, just three weeks after the first sales were made.  An attorney with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy, which runs the patient registry, told members of a medical marijuana oversight panel that officials had received a complaint from a children services agency, and the unidentified patient's privileges to buy medical marijuan has been suspended.

Pain is the number one reason Ohioans are registering to get medical marijuana.  The Ohio Board of Pharmacy says of the 12,873 active registrants, 44 percent are between the ages of 40 and 59. Eighty-three have a terminal diagnosis and about 1,200 are military vets.

Cuyahoga County's medical examiner is warning drug users of a surge in the deadly synthetic opiod carfentanil.  January was one of the deadliest months for overdoses in county history, with at least 58 apparent overdoses.  Dr. Thomas Gilson's office doesn't know yet how many involve carfentanil.

Cleveland City Council president Kevin Kelley says Mayor Jackson is "present" and "acting as mayor," following reports in Scene Magazine and Cleveland.com that the mayor was frequently absent from City Hall.  Kelley told us he has daily conversations with the mayor, council business is proceeding apace and "any suggestion that the mayor is not present, that the mayor is not acting as the mayor, that things aren't getting done, any suggestions that may have been made by any publication are false."  The city isn't commenting.

The Cleveland teenager accused of robbing a priest at gunpoint of eggs from the church chicken coop has been sentenced to nine years in prison.  Cuyahoga County prosecutors say 17-year-old Jaylen Miller pleaded guilty to charges that includes felonious assault and aggravated robbery.  Prosecutors say Miller was one of four juveniles involved in the 2017 armed robbery of Fr. John Kumse of St. Mary's Church in Collinwood.  One youth's case is still pending.

Weather forecast: Cleveland reached a record high of 61 degrees Thursday, but the respite was brief.  Temperatures have fallen nearly 40 degrees this morning.  Cloudy, windy, high 25.  Tonight, mostly cloudy, low 11.
