"When the Lights Come On Again" was written to bring awareness to the struggles of musicians and music clubs during the pandemic.

From a new Cleveland rock anthem to a series of pandemic plays to a short film festival, there are many virtual arts options this week. Here are five online events to check out from Northeast Ohio artists and arts and cultural organizations.

Cleveland Rocks

Musicians Ariel Karas and Brent Kirby produced the new song " When the Lights Come On Again" for the Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present and Future program. The song is a collaborative production featuring more than 25 Northeast Ohio musicians in an effort to bring awareness to the struggles of area musicians and music clubs during the pandemic.

Cleveland Public Theatre

Cleveland Heights playwright David Hansen has written 16 short plays, " Savory Taṇhā," that chart a course of loss, happiness and desire. Cleveland Public Theatre stages performances as part of its "Alive On Line" series with a rotating ensemble through Mar. 6.

Wick Poetry Center

Kent State University's Wick Poetry Center presents a Black Voices Matter Workshop Friday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m. Participants are invited to contribute a line or stanza reflecting on the poem "This is Not a Small Voice," by poet and activist Sonia Sanchez.

Allen Memorial Art Museum

The Allen Memorial Art Museum at Oberlin College has a series of video seminarsfeaturing various themes regarding its collection. The latest is "Tea, Time and Taste: Thoughts on Tea Bowls" led by curator Kevin R. E. Greenwood on the Japanese repair technique known as kintsugi.

Short. Sweet. Film Fest.

Now in its 10th season featuring award-winning short films from around the globe, the Short. Sweet. Film Fest. goes online this year due to the pandemic. Showcasing films under 30 minutes by both students and veteran filmmakers, the festival takes place Feb. 24-28.
