Trump's Ohio Win, the New Resistance, and 2018

Donald J. Trump's election capped off a series of defeats for Democrats that began during Barack Obama's presidency. From 2008 to 2016, the Democrats lost 1,000 seats in state legislatures along with  dozens of congressional and governors' seats, putting them in the worst position of power  since 1928.

Democrats faced the same fate in Ohio. Donald J. Trump's popularity  benefited down-ballot races as Republicans emerged largely victorious. What happens now for Ohio Democrats? Do they regain power by working with President Trump's administration or actively resisting it? And how do they prepare future party leaders for the 2018 midterm elections and beyond?
