NewsDepth Inbox: Season 48 - Episode #4

NEWSDEPTH QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK:   Should there be laws about house color? Or should you be able to paint your place any color? Tell us: why or why not?

Chloie, Glenwood Intermediate:  No, I do not believe that there should be a law about house color because it allows people to be unique in their own little ways. If I saw a hospital that was a bright color like sky blue I would just think they are trying to stand out to let the people that need to go there know where it is. This could be a good thing for people who are injured and need to know where the nearest hospital is.

Kaleb, Glenwood Intermediate:  I think that you should be allowed to have a different color on your house.  I think that people should be allowed because they have the freedom to do anything.   If you paint your house a weird color and someone tells you not to, you should keep it that color and if you don't like the color you should just move.

Erin, Windsor Elementary:  I think that you should be able to paint your house or place any color you want.  I would paint my house blue, and I think that you should expand your mind to whatever you have in mind - even if some law says that you can't. We are free and we get to make a building of our dreams.

Jonathan, Mason Intermediate:  I think we should paint our houses {businesses} whatever color we want. My reason is that I think there could be something you care about, for example if you are a cancer survivor you could paint your house pink for awareness.

Mallory, Independence Primary:  I do not think there should be a code for paint colors, because if someone paints their house, say bright green and it took one year, they would have to repaint it all over again.  In my city there is a house that is bright purple and blue and they have never repainted yet.  If there was a code for colors like only beige and brown the whole city would be so plain and not happy.
