We asked you to choose a New Year's resolution and tell us why you picked it.

Zach, Lake Cable Elementary: My first New Year’s resolution is to play fewer video games. I am going to accomplish my goal by, turning on the setting where your console will turn off after X number of hours. When you apply this setting it gives you a weekly report of how many hours you averaged a day. This goal is important to me because when I play video games I literally play from when I wake up to when I go to bed and it makes it difficult for me to go to sleep. I also want to accomplish this goal because when I play video games I miss out on very important moments that I should be spending with my family. I hope that others will also try to accomplish my goal because video games are taking over many children’s happiness.

Kylie, Javan, and Max, Main Elementary: Hi Newsdepth, Our New Year's resolution is to help more people. One way we can do it is to help our teacher by filing papers. Also we can help new students by showing where their lockers are and helping with tricky papers. Finally we can help custodians by picking up extra trash in the lunchroom.

Brady, Kensington Intermediate: My New Year's resolution is being a more positive person. I did this because I want to be happier. I also did this to help me not stress at the stuff that I shouldn't be stressing at. So far I have been doing better than I thought and has resulted in happiness. That is why my New Year's resolution is to be more positive.

Brynn, Elmhurst Elementary: My 2019 resolution is to not talk back to my parents. This is because they say I’m being rude and I don't want to be rude to my parents. That is my 2019 resolution that I hope to accomplish and those are the reasons why.

Brayden, St. Peter School: My New Year's Resolution for 2019 is to do a front walkover. I will work out on my gymnastic mat in order to do this. I will practice this 4 days a week for 20 minutes. By the end of 2019, I hope to achieve my goal.
