The Cleveland Foundation's Cleveland Book Week, which goes through this Sunday, is a big week for Greater Cleveland's literary scene, as Northeast Ohio's diverse writing community is showcased through a series of literary panels, speakers and conferences.

The week also includes the prestigious Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards ceremony taking place Thursday night at the Maltz Performing Arts Center. The contest recognizes books that have made important contributions to our understanding of racism and human diversity.

Today on the "Sound of Ideas" to talk more about Cleveland Book Week and our rich literary scene in Northeast Ohio is Karen Long, Manager of the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards. Also joinins us is Reverend Dr. Leah Lewis, the Founder and Executive Producer of the Great Lakes African American Writers Conference known as "GLOSSY."

Later this hour, we're going to take a look at the role of the British monarchy from its controversial past to its relevancy today, following the passing of Queen Elizabeth the II last week.

And, we'll end by bringing you another installment of Ideastream's music podcast, Shuffle.
