Cleveland City Champions are people and organizations making life better here. Identifying them, and sharing their stories, is a joint project of The Plain Dealer, The Guardian and Ideastream. We will meet local champions working to help the poor; fight the stigma associated with mental illness; transform the justice system; promote literacy and grow urban farms. Then, our Arts & Culture team takes a look at the growing field of self-publishing and whether perceptions are beginning to change.
