Simple Dish Connects Irishman to Memories of St. Patrick's Day

Sean McConnell

Northeast Ohioans of various ethnic stripes will wear green on March 17 to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  Thousands more will assemble in downtown Cleveland for the city's 149th annual parade.   Food is another key ingredient of the festivities, but it isn't all corned beef and cabbage or boxty.  Sean McConnell at Bay Village's Green Island restaurant says that "Shepherd's Pie" is the most Irish of meals for him.  Ideastream's David C. Barnett asked McConnell if that wasn't really a British dish.
