There’s someone else to celebrate this weekend – Moses Fleetwood Walker, the first African American to play major league baseball in the 1880’s….nearly 60 years before Jackie Robinson. Rep. David Leland (D-Columbus), one of the members of the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Indians' AAA franchise the Columbus Clippers, has sponsored legislation to designate every October 7 as Moses Fleetwood Walker day in Ohio.
