Reviewing Election 2012 And Predicting What's Ahead

For the 49th time since 1999, Ohio has put a condemned killer to death. And the execution of 38 year old Brett Hartman was carried out with no apparent complications. The lame duck session of the legislature is well underway with bills related to "puppy mills" and Planned Parenthood. Secretary of State Jon Husted’s office says he will appeal the ruling of a federal judge ordering him to change his policy on the counting of provisional ballots in last week’s election. Unofficial results show the elections for three seats in the Ohio house are still too close to call – the races in the 5th, 7th and the 98th.

Cookie Monster, Clint Eastwood, New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow, comedian Jon Stewart and God all received write-in votes for president from Ohio voters.

Now that the election is over, many people who made predictions are being held to them now. And what’s amazing is how accurate some predictions were. Two of the prognosticators who turned out to be the most accurate are Neil Clark, the former budget director for the Ohio Senate Republican Caucus and now the owner of Grant Street Consultants and Dale Butland, a veteran of many Democratic political and cause campaigns and now the communications director of the think tank Innovation Ohio.
